(Bloomberg) -- A jump in power output from solar plants and
muted demand sent European electricity prices negative for parts
of Saturday, which will result in lower rates for consumers.
The price in France included as many as eight individual
hours below zero as the average for the day settled at €1.42 per
megawatt-hour in an auction. Other markets from Germany to the
Nordics also had prices going negative.
