Commerzbank Unit Sees Poland Bank Revenue Boom as Risk Fades

Bank outlook improves amid consumption surge, MBank CEO saysPolitical push to fix Swiss-franc loans has ‘lost momentum’

(Bloomberg) -- Polish banking revenues may grow at the fastest pace in six years as the economy powers ahead and regulatory risks decline, according to the chief executive officer of Commerzbank AG’s unit in the country.

The ruling Law & Justice party’s push to force lenders to convert $40 billion in mostly Swiss-franc mortgages into zloty has “lost momentum” and the government has realized it’s not in its interest to curb banks’ ability to feed the growing economy, MBank SA CEO Cezary Stypulkowskisaid in an interview last week.
